Mercedes CEO Toto Wolff dismissed the rumors of a rift between Lewis Hamilton and George Russell on Monday. Applauding the competition between both the rivals, Wolff assured everyone that both the drivers are doing their best. The Austrian's statement comes following some reports earlier that claimed about Hamilton and Russell not being on speaking terms. Notably, Lewis Hamilton might be the Mercedes' current star, but George Russell remains the top choice racer of the franchise for the future.

Toto Wolff adds to Hamilton & Russell rivalry

Toto Wolff thrashed the rumors of clash between teammates, stating -

“My drivers are the least of my concerns at the moment, but I can imagine that the competition between Lewis and George is fierce. The great ones sense when a good one is coming along, and George is the next generation.”

He also opened up on new floor regulations, claiming how the new rules are harming Mercedes more than anyone else. However, Mercedes are currently a step ahead of rivals Red Bulls by 13 points in the ongoing Bahrain GP. Though, it should be noted that Red Bull have been the better side for majority of the season, and are strong favourites to win the World Championship as well.
