India and England kicked off the inaugural Test series of the World Test championship 2023 with their first encounter being played at Trent Bridge, Nottingham. The visitors, after losing the toss, did not let the home side breathe easy and kept striking wickets at regular intervals. Apart from a 72-run fourth-wicket stand between Root and Bairstow, it was not much that the three lions could have taken positively from. Bairstow, who was looking fine, was caught in front of wickets by Shami and England folded for 183 after Root's departure.

Bairstow’s doppelganger spotted

While Bairstow on Day 1 was contributing to his side with the bat, a spectator, who looked like a mirror to Bairstow, caught the attention of the camera. Bairstow’s duplicate had the same brown beard, moustache and hair as of the English Batsman. The duplicate looked a bit unsettled, which can be because the English batsmen were outblown on Day 1.

A Twitter user shared Bairstow’s look-a-like spectator’s image with a caption “Jonny Bairstow lite (duplicate) watching his own batting at Nottingham”. However, as the three lions could not go big, even Bairstow’s doppelganger could not praise them.

England bowlers need to turn things in favour of the hosts

While the Brit batsmen could not score much in the first innings, the pressure is on their bowlers to bring their side back into the game. After bowling England inside 66 overs, Indian batsmen had the challenge to play the deadly swing bowling from England bowlers for 13 overs on Day 1. Joe Root tried his all four fast bowlers to find an early wicket, but they were safely negotiated by Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul to end the day without a wicket down.
