Just a day after player retention for the Indian Premier League 2022 was announced, Sunrisers Hyderabad head coach Trevor Bayliss is set to leave his position and join another franchise. Trevor joined the Orange Army immediately after the 2019 World Cup win with England.

Unfortunately, Bayliss couldn't achieve the same feat with his IPL franchise. In fact, in the 2021 season too Sunrisers Hyderabad did not have a very rewarding season. Bayliss, who is considered as one of the most successful coaches, guided England to the Ashes and World Cup victories.

Trevor was also approached by the Australian board and it is being learnt that he is still in Cricket Australia's radar. However, the 58-year old is believed to be in talks with a few other IPL teams also. He had previously led Kolkata Knight Riders to two IPL titles - in 2012 and 2014 - before accepting an offer from England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB).

According to reports, the coach will look to join the Lucknow based franchise for the upcoming season.

According to reports from Cricbuzz, “He has moved on and we’ll announce the new coach soon”. Trevor Bayliss was part of the Sunrisers management during the time David Warner was taken down as captain and spent some time warming the benches as Kane Williamson took over the leadership role from there.

As the fans and management had already guessed, David Warner was not retained by the franchise. The Hyderabad based franchise retained Kane Williamson along with uncapped players Abdul Samad and Umran Malik.

There has been no official confirmation from Trevor Bayliss himself or the Sunrisers Hyderabad management on this decision yet.
