It was the double header on Sunday and it took a lot of time for fans to get over what happened in the first match of the day. While the match no. 20 between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Delhi Capitals started off a bit slowly, it started to become more and more interesting as it reached its climax in Chennai.
After winning the toss and opting to bat first, Delhi got off to a brilliant start on the back of Prithvi Shaw's 53-run knock. However, the SRH bowlers never let the batsmen get off the hook as they kept their run-rate in check. Rishabh Pant (37 off 27) and Steven Smith (34* off 25) played vital knocks to get them to a competitive total of 159/4 in 20 overs.
In reply, SRH lost the wicket of skipper David Warner early in the run-chase. However, Jonny Bairstow (38 off 18) got them back into the contest but got dismissed at a crucial stage. The middle-order failed once again but Kane Williamson stuck to his task despite running out of partners. The Kiwi batsman went on to play a heroic unbeaten knock of 66 runs off 51 deliveries to take the total to 159/7 in 20 overs, giving us the first Super Over of this season.
In the end, Delhi Capitals clinched the victory on the last delivery as the fans made memes on Kane Williamson losing another Super Over. In a contest which was rather undramatic and short of action, the Twitterati were delighted to see the match go down the wire as they trolled SRH middle-order and Warner's short run as the Orange Army lost their fourth match of the season.
