The match no. 16 in IPL 2021 produced one of the most one-sided contests of this season as Royal Challengers Bangalore absolutely destroyed Rajasthan Royals in all departments to go back on top of the table.
Playing their first match in Mumbai, the match started comically when RCB skipper Virat Kohli could not believe he had won the toss. After opting to field, Mohammed Siraj (3/27) produced a brilliant spell of bowling to completely put RR on the backfoot. In the end, Shivam Dube (46 off 32) and Rahul Tewatia (4o off 23) did show some fight to take their side to 177/9 in 20 overs.
It could have been a tricky target to chase but RCB were in no mood to take this contest down the wire. Devdutt Padikkal (101* off 52) played an innings of his life as he went on to smash a brilliant century. He was well-supported by skipper Virat Kohli (72* off 47) at the other end as RCB went on to win the match by 10 wickets in only 16.3 overs.
