The 3rd ODI between Ireland and South Africa witnessed one of the best ODI knocks in recent times in international cricket. Coming to the match with a 1-0 deficit in the series, the pressure was on the visitors to come up with a better performance on Friday. After Temba Bavuma won the toss and opted to bat first, it was a Malan-de Kock show that followed as South Africa's opening duo put on a 225-run stand to put the Proteas on top.

While Quinton de Kock smashed a brilliant century, the star of the show was undoubtedly Janneman Malan who continued to build on his scintillating start to ODI career. After already hitting two fifties and a century in his first six matches, the 25-year-old registered his highest-ever ODI score of 177* in Dublin. Malan smashed 16 fours and 6 sixes during his heroic knock, which also included this magical six over extra-cover boundary which left everyone in awe of his brilliance.

Fans hail Malan for his heroic show

The South African opener has a batting average of 120.75 after 7 matches where he has managed to score 483 runs. The fans were absolutely amazed to see the impressive numbers that Malan has managed to produce so early in his career and opined that the Proteas have found a great prospect for future. The 25-year-old is certainly living up to all the expectations in style and the netizens were awestruck with what he produced against Ireland.

Apart from his brilliance in batting, Malan was in action while fielding as well as he took three catches to send the trio of Paul Stirling, Andy Balbirnie and Curtis Campher back to the pavilion. The fans were quick to point out that Malan can miss no action today and claimed that he would even get a few wickets if the skipper asked him to bowl during the match. While he got the much-deserved appreciation for his heroics, Malan summed up a perfect all-round show for his side as South Africa went on to win the match by 70 runs to level the ODI series 1-1.
