West Indies captain Kieron Pollard became the second after Yuvraj Singh (in T20 cricket) and only the third in international cricket after Herschelle Gibbs and Yuvraj Singh to hit six sixes in an over. Pollard smashed Sri Lankan off-spinner Akila Dananjaya for six sixes in the sixth over of their run chase as they wrapped up a comprehensive win in the 14th over.

Dananjaya earlier started his bowling performance with a hat-trick in the fourth over of the second innings as he picked up the wickets of Evin Lewis, Chris Gayle and Nicholas Pooran in consecutive balls but that couldn’t quite impact the way Pollard goes about his business. The Mumbai Indians star tore apart the off-spinner as overall he became just the eighth batsman in the history of cricket to smash six sixes in an over.

Post Pollard’s jaw-dropping achievement, Twitter has gone totally berserk. While some are hailing the cricketer for achieving the feat, some are in praise for the West Indies team which seemed to have gathered a good bunch of experience and youth before the T20 World Cup.
