The finals of the French Open 2021 on Sunday produced one of the best ever matches in the history of the tournament at Philippe-Chatrier. It was an epic battle between World No. 1 Novak Djokovic and World No. 5 Stefanos Tsitsipas as the duo played out an unbelievable game that lasted 4 hours and 11 minutes. After the Greek tennis ace took an early lead, Djokovic bounced back in style to win the five-set thriller 6-7 (6), 2-6, 6-3, 6-2, 6-4 to win his 19th ever Grand Slam title. The Serbian is now just one title away from Nadal and Federer's record of 20 championships. 

Djokovic becomes first player to win 2 Grand Slam each in an open era

The World No. 1 has now become the first-ever player in the open era (third player overall) to clinch at least two Grand Slam titles in his illustrious career. Novak Djokovic's championships are as follows:

Australian Open -  9 titles (2008, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2015, 2016, 2019, 2020, 2021)

Wimbledon - 5 titles (2011, 2014, 2015, 2018, 2019)

French Open - 2 titles (2016, 2021*)

US Open - 3 titles (2011, 2015, 2018)
