A brilliant display of bowling from England followed by an aggressive opening partnership led England to a dominant 8-wicket victory in the first T20I against India. After restricting India to a paltry score of 124 runs, England top order chased it down comfortably with over 4 overs to spare.

Jofra Archer was the star with the ball for the England as he bamboozled the Indian batters with his sheer pace. Adil Rashid and Mark Wood provided good support from the other end and kept picking wickets at regular intervals.

Indian batting came under the scanner as the top order went packing inside the powerplay. The experiment to open with Shikhar Dhawan and KL Rahul didn’t pay off as both openers departed cheaply. Indian skipper, who struggled in the recently concluded Test series, bagged another golden duck. Shreyas Iyer was the lone warrior for Team India as his fighting 67 took India past 120.

Soon after the embarrassing loss in the opening game, fans on Twitter started criticizing Virat Kohli’s leadership skills and demanded for a captaincy change in the shortest format of the game.
