In the ongoing first ODI between India and England, English skipper Eoin Morgan won the toss and elected to field first. Team India are coming on the back of two series win against the Three Lions. Virat Kohli led the side to 3-1 win in the 4-match Test series, followed by 3-2 win in the 5-match T20I series.
However, as the game panned out, in the 27th over of the game with Adil Rashid bowling short on the stumps, Dhawan played a lofted pulled shot in the deep mid-wicket where Moeen tried best to catch the ball but didn’t control the hands to drop Dhawan at 59 (77). Seeing this, Twitter took by storm.
Here are some reactions:
Looked like the sun was in the eyes of Moeen Ali with that catch. Costly. #INDvENG

What has happened to Moeen Ali? Used to take wickets and score runs for fun. Now he drops dollies, balls half volleys and swings at fresh air. Real fall from grace. Sad to watch. #INDvENG

Moeen Ali needs puttin outta his misery, now struggles bowling, awful batting, drops dolly's , and has suspect temperament, so why persevere?#INDENG

After Moeen ali drppoed the catch, commentator Abinav Mukunth said that,Moeen should not see MS Dhoni after missed this type of catch in out field. This clearly shows that he is cool that does not mean he is not aggressive!!!!#INDvENG #INDVSENG #Viratkohli #Dhoni
