Inter Milan were confirmed the Serie A title as soon as Atlanta played a draw with Sassuolo on Sunday. The Italian giants went 13 points clear of G Gasperini's men following Saturday's win over Crotone with four games left. Tactical master Antonio Conte put an end to Inter's 11-year-long trophy drought and Juventus' nine-year league dominance, which he had kickstarted.

Before joining Milan, Conte helped Chelsea win the Premier League in 2017 and the FA cup in 2018. After staying away from coaching for one year, Conte joined Inter in 2019. Since 2011, Inter's best finish was 4th, but with Antonio's arrival in 2019, they finished as runner-up and just 1 point behind Juventus with a better goal difference in the 2019-20 season of the top-tier Italian league.

Inter last Scudetto win was under Jose Mourinho in 2010, when they also won the UEFA Champions League. Conte has already tasted the silverware in Italy; this is his 4th Serie A title, having won 3 back-to-back titles during his term at Juventus from 2011 to 2014. At the time of celebration, the 51-year-old said, "This is one of the most important successes of my career. Deciding to join Inter was not easy, just when the team was not equipped to win immediately."

"Furthermore, the opponent was Juventus for whom I had worked for a long time, who had dominated for nine years. Today we can say that our sacrifices have paid off," he added.

Inter also released an official statement on their website which read: "We are, yes, we are. Champions of Italy. We can finally scream it, after dreaming of it, after keeping it hidden in the depths of our hearts, after holding on to it like a precious dream that we did not want to waste."

The feat would have been impossible without the two-star players at the front, Romelu Lukaku and Lautaro Martinez. They have netted 21 & 15 goals respectively for their team, with four games still remaining. However, we cannot overlook Inter's rock-solid defence in Conte's favourite formation 3-5-2. They have conceded only 29 goals in 34 games this season.

After this Scudetto win, Inter Milan (19 titles) stand second on the overall tally below Juventus (36 titles).
