After the fourth day of the WTC Final was abandoned due to rain, the fans finally had something to look forward to as play resumed on Day 5 after a slight delay. As the experienced duo of New Zealand - Ross Taylor and Kane Williamson - walked out to bat, Team India decided to start the day with Ishant Sharma and Jasprit Bumrah. Although Bumrah continued to struggle for swing in the match, he bowled quite disciplined in his first spell of the day. However, he did a big mistake and by the time he corrected it, the fans had already made notice of the same.

What actually happened?

As both India and New Zealand have been wearing a specially designed jersey for the WTC Final, the name of sponsors has been replaced by the name of the nation in the front. However, Bumrah forgot to wear the new jersey and came out wearing the old jersey instead. The fans could see BYJU's written in place of INDIA in the centre, while there was an MPL logo in place of the WTC Final 2021 logo on the right chest. He was quick to realize the same as he rushed back to the dressing room after bowling the first over and came back wearing the correct jersey.

Fans were quick to observe

The netizens were quick to observe the same as they pointed out that Bumrah was wearing the wrong jersey. While some fans claimed that Bumrah was out of form in t-shirt selection as well just like his bowling so far, the others were just curious to know what had actually happened.
