The Delhi Capitals registered a clinical victory over the two-time champions Kolkata Knight Riders at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. As KKR was invited to bat first, Delhi fast bowlers tormented them with early wickets. Delhi-born fast bowler Chetan Sakariya made his debut for DC and struck in his first over.

Starting here, the Delhi bowlers pounced on KKR as they picked wickets at regular intervals. Bangladesh fast bowler Mustafizur Rahman picked up three wickets in his four-spell while giving up just 18 overs. But the best Delhi bowler was Kuldeep Yadav who broke the KKR batting as he dismissed stars like Shreyas Iyer, Andre Russell, Baba Indrajith and Sunil Narine. He ended with four wickets for 13 runs in three overs.

Then in the second innings, the Capitals had a terrible start to their innings as Prithivi Shaw was dismissed on the first ball. But then it was another David Warner performance that reduced DC from a precarious position. He ended his innings at the score of 42 in 26 balls but his wicket also brought another twist to the tale.

After Warner, Lalit Yadav got out in the next over followed by Rishabh Pant just scored two runs. In the end, a combined effort by Axar Patel, Rovman Powell and Shardul Thakur took DC over the finish line. Have a look at the top reactions during the game:
