Team India registered a thumping win in the first Test against South Africa with the help of KL Rahul's 123 off 260 balls, and Md. After choosing to bat first, India put on a massive total of 327 runs in 150.3 overs on a bouncing pitch and the hosts replied with mere 197 runs. Md. Shami impressed everyone with his 5-wicket haul in the first innings and got good support from Bumrah and Shardul Thakur with two wickets each. However, the Men in Blue proved why they are the number one side in Test cricket, by bundling down the host at 191 in the second innings.
