Indian middle-order Test batsman, Hanuma Vihari took to Twitter to post a tweet that had a cryptic and sarcastic undertone to it after his snub in the IPL Auctions 2021. None of the 8 teams bid for Vihari as he went unsold. It is imperative to note that Hanuma Vihari was a vital cog in Team India’s historic win Down Under (2-1). He played with a Grade 2 Hamstring tear and batted close to 3 hours to script a marvellous draw.

The Andhra Pradesh batsman, who set his base price at INR 1 crore at the auction, failed to attract any bids. His tweet quickly grabbed a lot of eyeballs and though the tweet was without any context, Twitterati was quick to decipher it and there were a lot of mixed reactions.

Here are some of the best tweets:

CSK buy Cheteshwar Pujara

Cheteshwar Pujara, who went unsold in the 2019 auction, was sold for his base price of 50 Lakh to Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in IPL auction 2021. Pujara last played IPL in 2014 for the Kings XI Punjab and since then he found it difficult to make it to the IPL squads of any franchise as nobody would bid for him.

Hanuma Vihari has played in 74 T20 matches so far and has amassed 1,355 runs at a decent strike rate of 112.35. He has plied his trade in the IPL for the Sunrisers Hyderabad in 2013, 2015 and for the Delhi Capitals in 2019.
