Putting an end to all the speculations surrounding the rift between Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma, the former ODI skipper on Wednesday morning held a press conference and clarified that all is well between him and Rohit Sharma. However, what caught everyone's attention was Kohli contradicting BCCI President Sourav Ganguly by stating that he was never approached by anyone in BCCI for not stepping down from the T20 captaincy, instead Kohli revealed that he was informed about the sacking from ODI captaincy just a few hours before the selector's meeting.

Notably, Ganguly a few days back mentioned that he personally approached Virat and requested him not to step down from T20 captaincy. "But as Kohli was adamant with his decision, the board decided to have one captain in white-ball formats, avoiding any confusion by having two separate in T20 and ODI," Ganguly was quoted. However, Kohli's statement in the press contradicted Ganguly's statement. Soon after the revelation, social media was flooded with posts highlighting Kohli's contribution to Indian cricket and many took a dig at Sourav Ganguly and the board for not handling the situation well.
