Dhoni..Dhoni..Dhoni! A chant that ignites so many emotions among cricket lovers and although the man himself - Mahendra Singh Dhoni - has retired from international cricket and is only seen in the Indian Premier League leading his franchise Chennai Super Kings - his popularity has seen no dip. As the former India captain turned 40 today, social media is full of tribute posts and wishes for the legendary cricketer. While a few of the netizens recalled his contribution to Indian cricket as a captain, others were also quick to take note of his master finishes in Indian and Chennai Super Kings colours.

Dhoni made his international debut in 2004 and led India to wins most famously in the 2007 T20 World Cup, 2011 50-Overs World Cup as well as the 2013 Champions Trophy. His last international outing was the Men in Blue's semifinal defeat against New Zealand in the 2019 World Cup where his dismissal in the penultimate over perhaps sealed the fate of the match in favour of the Blackcaps. However, on his special day, it is a celebration of his legacy that continues to trend.
