Manchester United have confirmed the signing of Tyrell Malacia on a contract until June 2026, with the option to extend for a further year. The Dutch left-back has made 136 career appearances for Feyenoord and has represented his country at every level with five full international caps.

Tyrell Malacia addressed his excitement about joining the Red Devils and working with Erik ten Hag. He said: “It’s an incredible feeling to have joined Manchester United. This is a new chapter for me, a new league with new teammates and a tremendous manager [Erik ten Hag] leading us. I know from playing against his teams in the Eredivisie, the qualities that he has and what he demands of his players.

Malacia then opened up about his first interaction with Ten Hag and expressed how he is looking forward to working under him. Mr Ten Hag is a very good trainer and also a warm person, so I had a good conversation with him and I have a very good feeling with him,” he said. “That’s important because if all goes well, we’ll work together for years. I’m looking forward to that because I think I can learn a lot from him, he makes players who want to work hard better.”

The  22-year-old also thanked his previous team Feyenoord and has promised the United fans that will give everything on the pitch. He said, “Whilst I know that I am still young and will continue to develop, I can promise the United fans that I will leave everything on the pitch every time I pull on the red shirt. I’ll always be thankful to Feyenoord for all they have given to me and my family.”
