Opportunity knocks the door only once, and when it's about Indian cricket, opportunity gets even more tougher due to immense competition. There are several cricketers who have missed to represent the nation on an international platform despite having required skill and talent, and few who failed to get expected chances in the team as compared to others due to various reasons.
Jayadev Unadkat is one such cricketer who has impressed everyone with his stint in Indian Premier League and in domestic circuit, but failed to get selected in the national side. After postponement of Ranji Trophy, Unadkat took to Twitter and posted a picture of red ball with a desperate caption. His tweet read, "Dear red ball, please give me one more chance.. I’ll make you proud, promise!" Reacting to his emotional tweet, one Twitter user wrote, " U r finished," to which the bowling all-rounder responded by commenting, "Nope, not yet."
However, this is not the first such instance when Unadkat expressed his desperation to get selected. Last year, he took a dig at Indian selectors for another snub from the national side. In reference to Hardik Pandya, who was in the limelight for his inability to bowl in ICC T20 World Cup, Unadkat posted a video where he can be seen slamming Mohammed Siraj for six in Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. ‘Just another pacer who can bat,’ his tweet read, in reference to the selection of Hardik Pandya as he was someone who was termed as the bowling all-rounder.
