chelsea into the finals

Thanks for joining in. This is Umang signing off…. Until next time, goodbye.

Chelsea advanced to their 3rd UEFA Champions League Final, an all English Final, to be played on 29 May in Istanbul. Before the big day, both the teams will go against each other in the Premier League on Saturday.

Even before the match, Chelsea was tagged as favourites for this clash. And they proved all of their doubters wrong. Experience indeed prevails above everything in sports. But with that, you need energy too. Chelsea may not have the most experienced squad. However, they have hunger and terrific athleticism, which reflected throughout the game. They outplayed Real Madrid in all the areas who were shambolic and looked rusty in the game.

[90+4′] And it’s done and dusted for Real Madrid at Stamford Bridge. Chelsea wins 3-1 on aggregate, who very well deserves the win.

[90+1′] Mount is the second-youngest Englishman to score in the semi-finals of the UEFA Champions League, after Wayne Rooney.

[89′] Double sub for Chelsea. Ziyech & James on; Mount & Azpilicueta off

[85′] GOOOOOAAAALLLLLLLLLL!!!!!!! Kante wins the ball outside the box, gives it to Pulisic, who takes it deep and wide and waits for the right opportunity to assist Mount for an amazing tap-in goal.

[83′] Assensio tries to put a lofted pass into the box, comfortably cleared by Rudiger

[80′] Pulisic hits it wide!! Chelsea has been a dominant force while counter-attacking.

[77′] Pulisic drops his shoulder to surge past Nacho, and he fires a dangerous low ball across the face of goal. Havertz stretches out a boot and misses it completely.

[76′] Substitution –  Rodrygo comes on for Casemiro

[73′] Chelsea Corner: Thiago again misses the target and puts the ball at the left side of the goal.

[72′] Yellow!!!! Kroos booked for a bad tackle on Pulisic

[70′] Pulisic runs past, tries to make a perfect cross for Havertz. Easily Caught by Courtois

[65′] SAVE!! Valverde blocks a shot by Kante and keeps his team alive in the match

[63′] Substitution: Asensio comes on to the field to replace Vinicius in the final third.

[61′] Yellow  Card For Nacho who bizarrely foul Havertz

[60′] SAVE!!! A brilliant save by Madrid goalkeeper, who denied Havertz in a 1 on 1 situation

[58′] Casemiro puts the ball in the box, which was easily caught by Edouard Mendy

[55′] Rudiger again makes a forward run which was cut short by Madrid defence

[53′] GOAL Missed… Mason mount hits over the bar after a lovely series of passes.

[50′] Set Piece for Chelsea!! Chilwell Puts the ball in the box, Thiago Silva heads it above the net.

[46′] Post!! Havertz hits the bar again after a great cross by Azpilicueta

Second Half Kicks off!!

Half Time: Chelsea lead by 1-0 with the help of Werner Goal. They have attacked exceptionally well in the first half, just like in the first leg.
We’ll have to wait and see If we get to see a similar character by Real Madrid as we saw in Spain.

[42′] Save!! Another good one-two passing display by Chelsea attackers, but the shot didn’t have enough power to beat Courtois.

[40′] Foul by Vinicius: Chilwell tries to run behind him

[36′] Yellow For Ramos: He pushed away Azpilicueta and gets a booking

[35′] Goal Denied!! Mendy denies Benzema, who tries to head the ball into the net.

[30′] Werner is making the lives of the Madrid defenders difficult. He again beats them with pace. Rudiger Joins the attack, but Timo’s pass could not reach Rudiger.

[28′] GOAAAALLLLL!!!!!!! After a brilliant one-two pass, the German attackers have finally shown what they can do.

[22′] Vinicius try to deliver a cross for Benzema, which was easily cut out by Chelsea defenders.

[20′]  Chelsea has looked more threatening team whenever they have the ball.

[17′] Offside! Werner puts Chilwell’s ball into the net, but he was called offside by the linesman

[16′] Werner puts a ball into the box for Mount, before he could take it, referee blew the whistle.

[14′] Yellow Card: Jorginho fouls Eden Hazard and gets booked.

[11′] Shot: Shot by Rudiger makes Courtois uncomfortable.

[10′] First On target shot of the match by Kroos, easily received by Mendy

[7:08′] Werner went past the defenders into the opposition box, nothing came out of it.

[6′] Nacho down!

[4′] First set-piece of the match for Madrid. Chelsea cleared the danger easily.

And we are underway! It seems like Real Madrid is again going with the 3-man defence system.

Players are out in the middle and ready for action.

It’s shocking to see that Chelsea has dropped Christian Pulisic from their playing XI. The man who gave them an away goal advantage in the first leg played at Santiago bernabéu Stadium, Madrid. Kai Havertz will be leading the attack for Chelsea today. Still, it won’t be an easy night for him as the veteran defender and Madrid Captain Sergio Ramos has returned. And we all know how Sergio plays when it comes to winning matches in Champions League.
