European football's governing body UEFA is working on creating the women's Finalissima between the winners of this year's Women's Euro and Copa America Femenina that will be played in Europe, as per reports on Thursday. The date and venue of the event will be announced in the near future as per UEFA. 

The Women's Euro tournament will be played in England in July, while the Copa America Femenina will be held in Colombia during the same month. Similarly, along with the Men’s and Women’s disciplines, the UEFA has also announced a Finalissima for the futsal and youth teams from the two confederations.

The youth team of Club Atlético Peñarol from Uruguay, who won the 2022 Conmebol U-20 Copa Libertadores will face S.L. Benfica from Portugal, the winners of the 2022 UEFA Youth League at the iconic Estadio Centenario in Montevideo, Uruguay, on 21 August 2022.

While the winners of the 2022 UEFA Futsal EURO, Portugal, and the third-placed team Spain will be part of a final four tournament with 2022 Conmebol Copa América de Futsal winners Argentina and runners-up Paraguay at the Movistar Arena in Buenos Aires, Argentina, between 16 and 18 September 2022.

Argentina defeated Italy 3-0 to win the inaugural men’s Finalissima at the  Wembley Stadium on Wednesday. For the La Albiceleste Lautaro Martinez, Paulo Dybala and Angel Di Maria scored the three goals and sealed the first big-ticket clash between the winners of the Euros and Copa America.

Reacting to this historic victory, Lionel Messi thanked the fans for creating a magical atmosphere in the Wembley. He said, “It was a beautiful final, full of Argentinians. What we've experienced here was beautiful. We knew it was going to be an attractive game and a nice setting to be champion. We can compete against anyone. Today it was a good test because Italy is a great team.”

Similarly, Angel Di Maria praised the team and said, “Everything changed since we won the Copa America. We got rid of that weight and now we are enjoying playing, having a good time and things are much easier for us. We are enthusiastic, but we must always keep our feet on the ground.”
