Rishabh Pant has been one of those youngsters who has already shown the world what he is capable of despite these being the early years of his international career. The 24-year-old has not only played a few game-changing innings both in limited-overs and Test match cricket but even his skills behind the stumps have been improving every series.

The Roorkee, Uttarakhand-born cricketer has thus been conferred with yet another honour as the Delhi Capitals captain has been appointed as the brand ambassador of the state of Uttarakhand. The same was confirmed by none other than the state's Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami.

Dhami took to his official social media account to confirm the development. He termed Pant as one of the best cricketers in the Indian national team and added that he is a youth idol and has been chosen as the ambassador to encourage the youth to focus on sports.

"One of the best cricket players of India, idol of youth and Lal Shri Rishabh Pant of Uttarakhand has been appointed by our government as "State Brand Ambassador" with the aim of encouraging the youth of the state towards sports and public health," Uttarakhand CM's tweet roughly translates to. "Thank you @pushkardhami sir for giving me the opportunity to be the Brand Ambassador of promoting Sports and General Health among the people of Uttarakhand. I'll do my best to spread this message and feeling happy that you are taking these steps towards a fitter India," Pant tweeted.

"Coming from a small town of Roorkee, I am confident that the people here have the ability to make the country proud in various fields of life," he added.

Pant was last seen in action in India's T20I series win at home against New Zealand and is currently with the Indian contingent in South Africa where the Men in Blue are set to take on the hosts in the first Test on December 26.
