Ravi Shastri’s tenure as Team India’s head coach ended on November 8th with the Indian team defeating Namibia by 9 wickets in the last Super 12 game of the ongoing T20 World Cup. The game will be remembered as Ravi Shastri's final match as head coach. While the team did not have a successful tournament, the Indian team achieved a lot under his guidance. The Indian team won 119 games and lost 53 across formats during Shastri's tenure as coach.

In an amazing gesture, Team India batters Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma have gifted their bats to outgoing coach Ravi Shastri. A photo of Ravi Shastri holding the two bats gifted by Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma has since gone viral on the internet. In the photo, Shastri can be seen alongside the bowling coach Bharat Arun, fielding coach - R Sridhar, who are all set to depart after the conclusion of  India's campaign at the T20 World Cup 2021 .

A big thank you: Kohli expresses gratitude to Shastri and support staff

After the match against Namibia on Monday, Virat Kohli thanked outgoing coach Ravi Shastri and his support staff for doing a great job over the years. "Big thank you to all those guys (Ravi Shastri & Co.), they've done a tremendous job all these years keeping the group together. Great environment with them around, they were an extended part of our bigger family. They've contributed immensely to Indian cricket as well. A big thank you to all of them from all of us," said Kohli.

Meanwhile, Rahul Dravid will take over as the head coach of Team India. Dravid will be in charge during the upcoming T20I and Test series against New Zealand.
