India will play five match Test series against England
After ending their 20-day break post the World Test Championship final, team India has reunited to prepare for the Test series ahead. The team also played a three day practice game against the County Select XI which ended in a draw. KL Rahul and Ravindra Jadeja starred with the bat while Umesh Yadav and Mohammad Siraj shined with the ball. Virat, however, did not take part in the game due to a stiff back.
The Indian team had to go through a tough time as well because their wicketkeeper batsman Rishabh Pant tested positive for COVID-19. Apart from that, three other players including Shubman Gill, Washington Sundar, and Avesh Khan have been ruled out due to injury concerns. Prithvi Shaw and Surya Kumar Yadav have been added to the squad as replacements but are yet to join the team in England.
