Virat Kohli may no longer be the captain of the Indian cricket team. However, that does not mean he is not involved in the decision-making scheme of things. The same was on display in the second T20I between England and India. After India managed 170/8 while batting first, Bhuvneshwar Kumar helped India off to a dream start with a wicket in the first ball of the bowling innings Jason Roy departed for a golden duck.

In his second over, Bhuvi bowled a great ball to Jos Buttler and the fielders went up in appeal. However, the umpire did not give it out. It was here that ex-captain Kohli convinced Rohit to go for the DRS. As it turned out, there was indeed an edge off the bat of Buttler and he had to take the long walk back to the pavilion.

The moment turned out to be a crucial one in the context of the game as England were not able to recover from the early blows and were ultimately bowled out for 121. Bhuvneshwar was the pick of the bowlers for Team India as he finished with figures of 3/15. Jasprit Bumrah and Yuvzendra Chahal also chipped in with two wickets each.

As far as Kohli is concerned, despite his contribution on the field as a leader, every Indian fan is hoping for a big score from his bat as his string of low scores continued after he departed for 1 off 3 balls in Birmingham. The final T20I of the series, which India has cliched 2-0 with a match to go, will be played on July 10.

Post that, the two teams will face off in three ODIs.
