Punjab Kings defeated Royal Challengers Bangalore by 54 runs where Virat Kohli had another dismal performance as he scored 20 runs in 14 balls. He had a great start but soon faltered as Kagiso Rabada dismissed him. But after the game, Kohli presented the fans with a heartwarming moment where he recreated Harpreet Brar’s ‘thigh-five’ celebration.

The picture of this moment surfaced on the internet where both Kohli and Brar are sharing a laugh. In the post-match interview RCB captain, Faf du Plessis addressed Virat Kohli’s drop in form and talked about how he has looked at the ‘lighter side’ of the moment.

“He (Kohli) is seeing the lighter side of it, every single way that you can possibly get out is happening to him. That's how the game works,” Du Plessis said. “All you can do is to keep trying hard, work hard and stay positive. He played some good shots tonight, obviously would want him to carry on. Bad patches happen to all of us, he's taken it in the right note”, Faf continued.

"Will take a day off and then see how we can switch on for a game that's a must-win one for us. One more net session isn't going to make you a better player, it's about making yourselves stronger in the mind. If we play to our potential, we are a very strong side. Unfortunately, we didn't do that tonight," he said.

“Luck needs to change,” Gavaskar

Former India cricketer Sunil Gavaskar also gave his thoughts on Virat Kohli’s form and talked about how he needs luck. "What can you tell him? He has got 70 international hundred. There is no advice to give him. Luck needs to change," Gavaskar said.

“Apart from the opposition, every other person wants to see him score runs. There are very few more attractive players in the game than Kohli. When he gets going, the cut shots, the pull shots, the drives, everything is brilliant,” he continued.

“It's a matter of luck just going his way. The other day, he played uppishly and it went straight to the fielder. On another day, the fielder could have been 5 yards to the left or right, it could have been a boundary. When luck is not going his way, your first mistake will get you out. Just hope luck runs his way and then he will be back among scoring the big runs”, the legend added.
