Virat Kohli has literally witnessed everything a cricket can serve to any batter. From four tons in the 2016 IPL season to three ducks in the ongoing edition, the Indian batter is in the middle of his darkest phase as a batter. Kohli’s lean phase with the bat has now lasted for more than anyone would have predicted, and many cricket experts and greats of the game have started suggesting him serious advice to undo his poor performance.

Former England captain Michael Vaughan believes it’s high time for Kohli to forget about his records and performances and should recall why he started playing cricket in the first place. While speaking to Cricbuzz, Vaughan said, “I hope Faf du Plessis had spoken to him and told him – ‘Go back ten years when you didn’t have this profile. You’re not married and don’t have a kid.”

The Ashes-winner skipper added that Kohli needs to feel a bit of youthfulness to unleash his real batting style. According to Michael Vaughan, by forgetting about his stardom and age, Kohli can relive his old days and have the same zeal and energy to do well.

“If he gets to 35, I reckon he can go big. It’s just those initial 0-10 that he has struggled with. If he can get away with that and show a little bit of zeal which he used to have, I am confident he will once again be the Virat Kohli, we all know,” concluded Vaughan. Speaking of Kohli’s poor form, the Bangalore batter has only scored one half-century in the ongoing season and has two 40 plus scores.

Former RCB skipper has only scored 216 runs in 12 matches, averaging just 19.64. Kohli will be hoping to add some valuable runs under his belt to guide RCB in the Playoffs.
