After a day of various media reports stating that Virat Kohli is set to miss the ODI series against South Africa, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has now clarified that former ODI skipper will play the limited-over series against the Proteas, starting from January 19. Few BCCI officials have confirmed that Virat Kohli made no request for any break and he will be available for the ODI series.

"There is no truth in reports of Virat skipping the ODIs," said a top BCCI member, while informed sources have reiterated Kohli's commitment saying, "He is a totally committed cricketer and there is no doubt about his participation", a BCCI official was quoted as saying to Cricbuzz.

Virat Kohli to address a virtual press conference on Wednesday

Ahead of Team India's departure for the South Africa tour, Indian Test captain Virat Kohli will address a virtual press conference from Mumbai on Wednesday. Meanwhile, the availability of Rohit Sharma for the ODI series is still not confirmed, Notably, Rohit Sharma has been ruled out of the Test series against South Africa due to a hamstring injury.

Priyank Panchal has been included in the squad as a replacement for Rohit for the Test series, which is starting on December 26.
