Former Indian captain and star batter Virat Kohli is having a rough patch in his international career that has led Indian cricket legend Kapil Dev to call for his exclusion from the T20I squad. However, Kohli's childhood coach Rajkumar Sharma has expressed his disagreement with the legend's comment.

Kohli has failed to convert his innings into a big score in recent times which has brought a feeling of dismay among some cricketing experts. The 1983-world cup-winning captain has believed that Virat Kohli should be rested and an in-form player should replace him in the Indian T20 squad.

Referring to Kapil Dev's comments on Kohli, Rajkumar Sharma told ANI, "I do not support the statements made by Kapil Dev on Virat Kohli. Nothing big happened with Virat that such kind of statement has been issued. Why is there so much hurry with Virat, he has done so well for the country. Making 70 international centuries is not a small thing. I do not think the board will make a decision to have him sit on the bench."

Meanwhile, Team India are touring England for the white-ball series. The Men in Blue have won the starting two T20I fixtures against England as the two teams are playing the third and final T20I of the series.
