In a dramatic development from the Indian Premier League, it is being reported that the title sponsors of the tournament, Vivo, have expressed their desire to pull out with immediate effect. The Chinese company, who have a couple of years left in their sponsorship deal with IPL, have requested to transfer their rights to Tata.

As it turns out, the Governing Council have accepted the request on Tuesday and the league is set to be called Tata IPL from 2022 edition onwards.

In addition, another official confirmed to the website that BCCI will continue to earn the same fee for the title rights, which is expected to be around INR 440 crores per year.
