If there is one Twitter rivalry cricket fans enjoy the most, it has to be the Wasim Jaffer vs Michael Vaughan one. The two cricketers are often seen involving funny banters on the social media platform. While Vaughan is often seen reminding Wasim Jaffer of his first Test wicket (which was of the Indian batter back in 2002), Jaffer keeps giving it back to the Englishman with different stories.

Now, as India and England are gearing up for one more bilateral series where the two teams will also play the fifth Test (from the 2021 tour), the two former cricketers have fastened their seat belts for another Twitter battle. In fact, Michael Vaughan has already started it and Jaffer is in no mood to hold back either. And as usual, the two cricketers turned back old pages to counter each other on Twitter.

It all started with Wasim Jaffer posting a picture of himself sitting at Lord’s Cricket Ground. The former India batter shared a beautiful picture with a beautiful caption. “Sun is shining, the weather is sweet @HomeOfCricket,” wrote Jaffer alongside his picture.

With his old rival back in his country, Michael Vaughan tried to take a dig at Jaffer by asking the purpose of his visit. He actually slipped in a sarcastic comment asking if the Indian was in England to celebrate 20th anniversary of Vaughan’s first Test wicket. “Is it the 20th anniversary of my first Test wicket you are here for Wasim ?” asked Vaughan on Twitter.

Now, with Vaughan turning back the pages, Jaffer also decided to take a leaf out of India’s victories in England and he was quick to come up with a picture of India’s series win in 2007. Jaffer shared a picture of Indian players celebrating with the trophy after winning the three-match Test series 1-0. “Here for the 15th anniversary of this Michael,” Jaffer captioned the post.

Notably, it was one of India’s rare Test series win against England in England. Both Jaffer and Vaughan were a part of their respective sides in that series and the Indian batter had played some handy knocks across the three matches. Since that win, India is still to win a Test series in England. This tour can prove to be a breaker with India heading into the fifth Test with a 2-1 lead.
