Three-time IPL champions Chennai Super Kings are slated to face Kolkata Knight Riders in the final of the 2021 edition of the league. The match will take place on Friday at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. So far a majority of cricket pundits have revealed their expected winner from the contest. While some showed belief in MS Dhoni-led side CSK which have been consistently performing well in the league, others felt the resurgent KKR under Eoin Morgan are the favourites.

With so much of debate and discussions going before the finale, former India cricketer Wasim Jaffer has also shared his predicted winner for the match. Given that it was Jaffer picking his team for the final on social media, the style of presentation had to be different from that of others. It is worth noting that apart from being a former cricketer and coach, Jaffer is also famous on social media for his sarcastic digs and witty remarks. He also gives the Twitterati mysterious posts, propelling them to solve it to get the hidden meaning or answer. On the other hand, the netizens also participate actively in solving the cryptic posts.

Who did Jaffer predict to win the final of IPL 2021?

This time too Jaffer did a witty post. Commenting about the finale on Friday, he wrote, "Prediction: A World Cup winning captain and a Kiwi coach will lift the trophy tonight ? #CSKvKKR #IPL2021."

Jaffer's prediction has sent the netizens in splits as both the captains - MS Dhoni (CSK) and Eoin Morgan (KKR) - have won the World Cup. While Dhoni led India to the glory at the 2007 T20 World Cup and 2011 World Cup, Morgan bagged the World Cup in 2019. Meanwhile, Jaffer also mentioned that the winning team will have a Kiwi coach. Interestingly, both Stephen Fleming (CSK coach) and Brendon McCullum (KKR coach) are from New Zealand.

KKR, who were tottering at the 7th spot in the points table when IPL 2021 was suspended, bounced back beautifully in the second half of the tournament that is taking place in UAE to eventually book a finale berth. CSK, on the other hand, ended the league stages at the second spot and won the Qualifier 1 beating table-toppers Delhi Capitals who eventually got knocked out of the competition post a defeat to KKR in Qualifier 2.
