Wasim Jaffer responds to Michael Vaughan

Former India opener Wasim Jaffer has posted a hilarious short video taking a dig at the ex-England captain Michael Vaughan after the Three Lions succumbed to an innings and 14-run defeat in the third Test match of the Ashes series, already conceding the series with two matches to go. So dismal was England's performance that despite bowling out Australia for 267, they could not even match that score both innings combined.

Vaughan had earlier expressed his disbelief when India had been bowled out for a paltry score and Jaffer saw this as a perfect opportunity to remind his English mate what he had tweeted. Notably, Vaughan's tweet dated 31 Jan 2019 read: "92 all out India... Can't believe any team would get bowled out for under a 100 these days !!!!!!."

Earlier Vaughan had advised Joe Root & Co. to play a nasty brand of cricket rather than being nice with their opponents.

"I see on the morning of the game they are all talking to Mitchell Starc and Nathan Lyon. I never had a conversation with Steve Waugh back in the day. I wouldn't have dared go and speak to Glenn McGrath on the morning of the game or Shane Warne. You just didn't," Vaughan told Fox Cricket.

"It's all a bit friendly. I'd get nasty with them They somehow need to find that on day one. Get into the scrap. Chirp, do whatever, just get into the scrap," he had added.

"They are at that stage now where they have to change something. It might be that they all get nasty, get nasty with each other. They all fall out. Who cares, but then come out and show a bit of spirit I actually want to see a bit of mongrel in the England side," he stated.

Meanwhile with two Test matches to go in the series and after failing to win a single Test so far, it would be a battle of pride for the visiting team. The fact that they have not even been able to compete, leaving a few passages of play in the opening Test, hasn't been a great ambassador for one of Test cricket's most riveting rivalries.
