Former India batter Wasim Jaffer continues to hit sixes on social media as he once again took a dog at Former England captain Michael Vaughan. The Englishman in his recent tweet suggested SunRisers Hyderabad pacer, Umran Malik, to come over to England and play County Cricket as he could play in the national team very soon.

Vaughan had tweeted “Umran Malik will play for India very soon … If I was the @BCCI I would be sending him to play some County cricket this summer to help him develop first though … #IPL2022.” Wasim Jaffer then posted a video of former England captain Alastair Cook mimicking a weird bowling action in county cricket. It was a clear shot at the quality of cricket in the county championships and the seriousness of players in the tournament. Jaffer’s tweet said, “Meanwhile County cricket this summer ?? #IPL2022”

Umran Malik made recent headlines when he delivered the fastest ball in the history of the IPL against the Gujarat Titans. The Srinagar-born has also bowled the five fastest deliveries in the ongoing edition of the cash-rich T20 tournament.

This guy is an India player: Ravi Shastri

Former India coach Ravi Shastri had also praised Malik and called him a possible India player. He said, “I think this guy has got talent. He has a genuine pace and if he hits the right areas he is going to trouble a lot of batsmen. It is about handling him properly. It’s the messages that you give him, it’s the way you communicate with him that is going to be very very important.”

“There is no doubt in his potential. This guy is an India player. When he is ready, only time will tell, but that communication part is extremely important. He should be handled with care and kept in the mix,” Shastri said.
