The ongoing 1st Test between India and Sri Lanka in Mohali has been nothing short of action and entertainment. From Virat Kohli and Rishabh Pant falling few runs short of 50 and 100 respectively to Rohit Sharma declaring the innings with Ravindra Jadeja on 175*, there have been many talking points in the match so far. Continuing with the trend, there was more drama for fans in final session of Day 2.
It all happened in the 32nd over of Sri Lanka's innings when Jasprit Bumrah bowled a fiery over. The pacer was running in quickly and bowling quick, however he came up with a slight change of delivery out of nowhere which completely deceived Pathum Nissanka.
Bumrah and No-ball - An unfortunate combo for India
The ball crashed into the stumps and Indian players were elated with joy. However, the celebration were quite short-lived with the loud no-ball hooter spoiling the party. Yes, Bumrah had done the cardinal sin (on cricket field) of overstepping and the batsman had survived.
As the cameras pointed towards the dressing room, it showed coach Rahul Dravid giving an angry reaction, suggesting that he was indeed very unhappy with the sequence of events. There was visible disappointment on his face as well as on face of captain Rohit Sharma, who looked in anguish.
However, the fortunes did change for Bumrah in his next over as he trapped Angelo Matthews in front and courtesy an umpire's call going in his favour, the pacer got the much-deserved wicket for his brilliant bowling in Mohali.
