Thousands of Liverpool fans flooded the streets of the city and welcomed their team and celebrate their double trophy-winning season. The Reds also lifted the FA and League Cups earlier in the season but took part in the parade a day after their Champions League final loss in Paris.

Liverpool Women also had an open-top bus parade around the city as they won the Women's Championship trophy in April. Liverpool Mayor Joanne Anderson praised both the teams and expressed that both sides had "done us proud".

At the parade, Club captain Jordan Henderson expressed his gratitude towards the fans for fans and said, " the least we can do is say thank you to the fans for what they have given to us this season. We weren't sure what it would be like. We were all a bit flat. But this is what it is all about. This is why you do it and who you do it for."

“This is the best club in the world, don’t care what other people think,” Klopp

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp was elated with the parade and while talking to LFC TV said, “This is the best club in the world, don’t care what other people think. I wasn’t sure what we can expect [from parade], we spoke about it before. We have to plan this kind of things, it can’t be just ‘bam, there’s a parade’. But I deeply hoped that we find something like this, it’s absolutely incredible.”

“It’s such a boost for everything that will come. Unbelievable. I’m proud of these people, unbelievable… When you see the eyes of the people, it’s incredible. That’s the best sign you can get, you don’t have to win, you just have to put all of what you have in, throw everything on the pitch and the people of Liverpool love you.”

An estimated 500,000 fans lined up to paint Liverpool red.
