The ongoing 2nd Test between India and New Zealand witnessed history being made at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. While Mayank Agarwal played an outstanding knock to guide India to a total of 325 in the first innings, it was Ajaz Patel who stole the show.

The left-arm spinner wreaked havoc with his bowling and achieved the rare and remarkable feat of scalping all the 10 wickets in an innings, becoming only the 3rd player to do so after a legendary duo of Jim Laker and Anil Kumble.

Ajaz Patel enters the history books

Ajaz Patel ended the first innings with magical bowling figures of 47.5-12-119-10. The left-arm spinner was brilliant with his line and length as he constantly troubled the Indian batsmen before eventually sending all of them back to the pavilion. Here is a list of Ajaz Patel's scalps:

#1 - Shubman Gill (Catch out) - 27.3 overs

#2 - Cheteshwar Pujara (Bowled) - 29.2 overs

#3 - Virat Kohli (LBW) - 29.6 overs

#4 - Shreyas Iyer (Catch out) - 47.4 overs

#5 - Wriddhiman Saha (LBW)  - 71.4 overs

#6 - Ravichandran Ashwin (Bowled) - 71.5 overs

#7 - Mayank Agarwal (Catch out) - 99.5 overs

Ajaz Patel was born in Mumbai

Something that is extremely extraordinary about the achievement is the fact that Ajaz Patel was born in Mumbai on 21 October 1988. His family shifted to New Zealand when he was 8 years old and 25 years later, the left-arm spinner returned to his birthplace as a Kiwi player and etched his name in history books forever. This is what we call a fairytale! Take a bow, Ajaz Patel.
