The cricket lovers are being treated to some scintillating action across the globe. While India are playing against South Africa in 2nd ODI, the legends of Asia and the World are up against each other in Oman. Amid all this, the 2022 edition of the Bangladesh Premier League is also happening in Dhaka, which produced one of the most astonishing sequences of events ever seen in the history of the game.
During Match 2 of the tournament on Friday, Dhaka Platoon were batting against Khulna Tigers. After getting off to a steady start, the onus was on the duo of Andre Russell and Mahmudullah to steer their side to a big total. However, no one would have ever imagined how their partnership would eventually come to end.

Having smashed a six, Russell tried to take a quick single off the last delivery of 15th over being bowled by Thisara Perera. He nudged the ball towards short third-man where Mehidy Hasan reacted quickly to throw the ball towards the striker's end. The ball hit the stumps but fortunately for the batting side, Mahmudullah was safely in.
But in a dramatic turn of events, the ball was deflected towards the non-striker's end and before Russell could react, the ball crashed onto the stumps with the all-rounder short of the crease. He was casually strolling down the wicket as he was not running towards danger end but he had no idea that destiny had other plans.

The all-rounder walked back towards the pavilion with a smile on his face and it was quite evident that he could not believe his luck during the incident. Russell's dismissal was a huge blow to Dhaka Platoon but a quick-fire 39-run knock by captain Mahmudullah guided them to a competitive total of 183/6 in 20 overs.
