Juventus kicked off their 2022-23 season in a dicey fixture against Sassuolo with win thanks to an incredible Dusan Vlahovic along with new signing Angel Di Maria who enjoyed a memorable debut. Sassuolo started the game on the front foot and but Juventus reclaimed control.

The home side held its own and took its sweet time until they found an opening. Left-back Alex Sandro sent out a cross from his flank towards Di Maria in the box, who hit the ball with a difficult half-volley finish and netted his first goal for the I Bianconeri in the 26th minute.

The Argentine was then joined in by Serbian striker Dusan Vlahovic, who then opened his account with a penalty in the 43rd-minute mark. Sassuolo’s Gian Marco Ferrari brought down Vlahovic and received a yellow card.

The Serbian attacker soon doubled his tally with an assist by Angel Di Maria seven minutes later in the second half. Vlahovic almost capped off his performance with a hat trick in the 86th but his attempt was deflected wide of the post.

After the match, Vlahovic was extremely elated with the team’s performance and also talked about playing with the Argentine winger as he thanked him for the assist.

"How do I feel playing with Di Maria? It is an incredible feeling, it is a great pleasure to play with such champions, I thank him for the assist," Vlahovic told reporters.
