HARdik

India’s top all-rounder Hardik Pandya had a near-perfect outing in the 1st T20I against England as he scored a brilliant half-century (51* off 33 balls) and took four wickets to throw the opposition off track. However, he had an off day in the second T20I as he failed both with the bat and ball.

Pandya got out after struggling in the middle for only 12 (off 15 balls) and then conceded eight runs in his very first over. This frustrated the Indian all-rounder as he was also seen cussing at one of his teammates for not moving on the field as he wanted. Pandya was heard abusing on the stump mic between the overs.

“Mere time mere pe dekh, maa ch***ne gaya wo kya bol raha hai”. Which translates to English; “Look at me when I am bowling, don’t care what he speaks”. However, it is not known that on which player he yelled at.

India claim series

Although Pandya had a tough day in the middle, his teammates ensured India finish on the right side. The Rohit Sharma-led team beat England in the second T20I by 49 runs to take an unassailable lead of 2-0 in the three-match T20I series. Ravindra Jadeja and Bhuvneshwar Kumar were the stars with the bat and the ball respectively. While Jadeja powered India to 170/8 with his 46* (29) after a mini-collapse, Kumar took three important wickets to derail England’s chase.

Some other handy contributions included Jasprit Bumrah’s economical spell, Yuzvendra Chahal’s two wickets, and some quick runs from Rohit Sharma and Rishabh Pant. Bumrah took two wickets in his three overs and also bowled a maiden. Meanwhile, Chahal took two wickets in his two overs and conceded only 10 runs. Earlier, Pant (26) and Sharma (31) put together 49 runs for the first wicket and got India to a decent start.
