Jos Buttler held the key to RR’s batting lineup right from the start of the big game. The RR opener played cautiously initially as he knew the importance of his wicket. However, with his partners changing one after the other, Buttler tried to up the ante and was successful for a while. He hit a couple of boundaries against Mohammed Shami to quickly walk into his 30s.

However, with runs not coming after Devdutt Padikkal gifted his wicket to Rashid Khan, Buttler looked helpless and tried to take on GT bowlers. In the process, he perished to Gujarat captain Hardik Pandya who was in the middle of a fine spell. Buttler nicked a climbing delivery into the wicketkeeper’s hand.

The RR batter looked utterly disappointed with his dismissal and was visibly angry as well. He was continuously shaking his head in disbelief. On his way back to the dressing room, Buttler was seen throwing his helmet and gloves too.

Buttler falls alone!

The anger and disappointment on Buttler's face were not just because of the way he was dismissed but also for the way his partners kept throwing their wickets one after the other. It started with Jaiswal getting greedy against Yash Dayal. The southpaw had hit Dayal for a maximum of a ball before he got dismissed. He tried to get one more but could only find a fielder.

Sanju Samson then joined Buttler but lasted only 11 balls. The RR captain also perished while trying to go big. Devdutt Padikkal then fell to Rashid Khan after struggling for 10 balls. He was removed by Rashid Khan. After losing three partners, Buttler fell alone and eventually perished to a brilliant delivery from Hardik Pandya.
