Virat Kohli may have been going through a lean patch in the ongoing edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL), but that cannot take the aggression away from the ever-pumped-up cricketer. Kohli has got lesser opportunities to show his aggression while batting but he has shown it while fielding.

However, the RCB opener did find a way to celebrate his stay at the crease against Gujarat Titans in a must-win game for RCB. Kohli looked charged-up as ever while he was batting. Although he rode on luck initially in his innings, Kohli did not hold back from celebrating the smaller progress he was making in the match.

He managed to get two consecutive boundaries off Hardik Pandya in the fourth over of the RCB innings. While the first one came with an inside edge, the second one was a dropped catch by Rashid which went to the ropes. With Kohli surviving close calls, Pandya looked baffled and the batter put salt to GT’s wounds with an animated gesture. Kohli was seen yelling “go back” after his catch was dropped by Rashid.

King Kohli arrives!

The way Kohli batted against Gujarat Titans, it seemed he had decided to not let go of this moment. Right from the start, Kohli kept his aggressive intent at the fore. He had luck on his side as well. The RCB batter survived some close calls but never looked back once he got into his zone. Kohli kept smashing the GT bowlers and in the process notched up his second fifty of this season and 44th overall.

He crossed the 50-run mark with a maximum off Rashid Khan in 34 balls. Kohli then made sure he makes it count as he added 23 more runs to his total. His inning was brought to an end by Rashid who got him stumped out. In the end, Kohli walked back to the pavilion with 73 (his highest this season) against his name.
