The Trailblazers run chase has lost its plot in the middle. While openers Smriti Mandhana and Hayley Matthews had got them off to a good start after Supernovas had set them a target of 164 to win, wickets started to fall one after the other since the 8th over which is when Mandhana departed.

While there were a few run-outs even in the Supernovas innings, the dismissal of Arundhati Reddy in the Trailblazers innings, was a rather strange one. After getting an inside edge of the bat, Reddy tried to go for the run, having no clue that the ball had tricked back to the wicketkeeper. As a result, it was an easy run-out chance for Taniya Bhatia behind the wicket who made no mistake.

Have a look at the dismissal here:

Ultimately the Trailblazers lost the match by 49 runs as they could only muster 114/9 in their 20 overs. Smriti Mandhana 34 (23) was the leading run-scorer for the losing team and her wicket started off their batting collapse. Pooja Vastrakar was the pick of the bowlers for the Supernovas as she scalped 4 wickets for 12 runs in her 4 overs. Earlier, riding on 30s from Harmanpreet Kaur, Harleen Deol and Deandra Dottin, Supernovas reached a competitive total- the highest ever in Women's T20 Challenge history. They looked good for even more but Hayley Matthews' 3/29 and a few untimely runouts kept them down to 163.
