The first half of match no. 46 in IPL 2021 between Mumbai Indians and Delhi Capitals has undoubtedly been dominated by the bowlers. Sharjah has proven to be a difficult batting wicket this season and something similar was on display on Saturday. After asking MI to bat first, Rishabh Pant's side produced a scintillating bowling performance which left the five-time champions absolutely stunned.

It was Axar Patel who ripped through Mumbai's middle order with a brilliant spell, where he ended with figures of 3/21 in 4 overs. However, the star of the show was the 24-year-old pacer Avesh Khan who has been a revelation for Delhi Capitals this season.

Avesh Khan takes 3 wickets against MI

The right-arm pacer started his magical outing in Sharjah with a brilliant opening over when he beat Rohit Sharma with his pace before dismissing him with a short-pitch delivery. But it was in the penultimate over when Avesh Khan produced the moment of the match.

With MI looking for some quick runs, DC's fast bowler came up with a scorching yorker to Hardik Pandya which left the batsman absolutely bamboozled. It was a 141 kmph delivery which went through the legs of Hardik before crashing on to the leg stump.

Avesh continued his magic with the ball as he also clean bowled Nathan Coulter-Nile in the over to end with excellent figures of 4-0-15-3. He conceded runs at an economy of only 3.8 as MI were restricted to a paltry total of 129/8 in 20 overs.
