Five-time defending champion Mumbai Indians are set to lock horns with inaugural champions Rajasthan Royals on April 2nd at DY Patil Sports Academy, Mumbai. While Rajasthan Royals had a terrific start after outplaying Sunrisers Hyderabad, Mumbai Indians could not challenge Delhi Capitals in their maiden clash of the season. Ahead of their highly-anticipated clash, pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah indulged in a hilarious conversation with Royals’ skipper Sanju Samson.
While players from both teams were busy sweating out at DY Patil, Bumrah and Samson had light-hearted moments with each other. In a video released by Rajasthan Royals on Royals Unplugged, Jasprit Bumrah could be heard saying, “Bat pe Jasprit Bumrah ke sticker hone chahiye. Jo Bhi. Sticker pe Mera name hona chahiye. Bhai Test match jeetai hai.” (English translation: My name should be on the sticker of the bat. I have managed to win a Test match for India with the bat. I deserve that much).

Notably, Bumrah referred to Lord’s Test against England last year when he had an unbeaten 89-run ninth partnership with Mohammed Shami. Bumrah added 34-run off 64 balls in that historic win and played a vital role in India’s win.
Speaking of IPL 2022, Bumrah represents Mumbai Indians and will look to make an essential contribution to the team’s maiden victory. His last outing against Delhi Capitals was not so impressive as he conceded 43 runs in his wicketless 3.2 overs. On the other hand, Sanju Samson played a blistering 55 off 27 balls and ensured victory for his side against Sunrisers Hyderabad.
