In the first Test between England and New Zealand, the Three Lions are chasing 277 in the second innings. The English batters had a difficult start as they lost their opener, Alex Lees, for just the score of 9. Then four overs later, Jamieson struck again as he picked up Zak Crawley’s wicket.
Another England collapse seemed likely as they lost their number three Ollie Pope at the score of 46 in 16 overs. Then came England’s new captain Ben Stokes to rescue his team from danger. But he as well fell prey to all-rounder Colin de Grandhomme's 4th ball of the innings.
Stokes completely misjudged the ball as he edged it onto the stumps while charging down the pitch. As Ben Stokes was walking back to the dressing room in dejection, the umpire was heard calling the delivery a no-ball. The England captain was called back giving England fans a new ray of hope.

But luck hasn’t always been on England’s way as they suffered another batting collapse in the first innings of the Test match. Addressing this poor batting display, former England captain Nasser Hussain expressed how the team still needs a lot of work in his column with the Daily Mail.
He wrote, “No matter how much good work Stokes did in the first half of the day, he was reminded in the second half that England’s Test batting is still a big issue. There’s plenty of work still to be done – technically, mentally and positionally.”
“Many of the things England have been doing wrong in the field over the last 17 Test matches they got right on Ben Stokes’ first day as full-time captain. It was just a pity their old failings with the bat came back to haunt them,” he further added.
