There have been so many instances in cricket where something unusual has happened and forced people to think, how did that happen? Just when it feels to the viewers that this could be the worst or best that can happen on a cricket ground, something pops up as a surprise. A similar incident on the cricket field has forced people to scratch their heads and wonder how that could even happen?

In a 30-second-long video, a bizarre fielding mistake was captured in a domestic tournament in Pakistan. In the ongoing season 4 of the Al Wakeel Cricket League, the fielding team made a blunder that allowed the batsmen to score 5 runs off 1 ball without even scoring a boundary. In the match between Audionic vs Automall, Audionic scored 154/10 while batting first, setting a target of 155 for the opposition.

Automall batters did well to score 150/8 in 19.5 overs leaving 5 runs to score on the last delivery. The bowler ensured to keep the ball away from the hitting zone. The batter, however, managed to hit the ball to some distance and ran hard between the wickets. The fielder came charging at the ball and tried to run one of the batsmen out. But, in spite of throwing the ball at the stumps, the fielder chose to run up to the stumps.

On seeing both the batsmen at the non-striker end, the fielder threw the ball to the other end targeting the stumps with no one backing up. The ball missed the target and rolled down to the fine leg region. Another fielder ran to collect the ball, but it was too late till then as both the batters had completed 5 runs by running between the wickets and eventually winning the game.

It was surely a shocking as well as entertaining turn of events on the ground. The video in no time attracted so many eyeballs and netizens were quick to react to it. "Never seen this before," wrote a user on Twitter. "Looks like the fielder at long-off has fielding-related trust issues with his teammates and wants to ensure the runout himself," wrote another.
