India and England are currently contesting in a closely-fought Test series. While the visitors stunned India to make a winning start to the series, India came back strongly to win the next two matches. The final fixture of the longest format hangs in fine balance as India are reeling at 121/5 after bowling the hosts out for 205. During the match, a bizarre incident happened on the live broadcast.

When Ajinkya Rahane was facing James Anderson at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad, host broadcasters Star Sports were showing past dismissals of Rahane against Anderson. However, as if almost on prompt, Anderson claimed Rahane in live action before the lunch break to put India on backfoot. The video of the strange turn of events is doing the rounds on Internet.

Anderson has dismissed Rahane 6 times

Notably, James Anderson holds a great record against the Indian Test vice-captain. In as many as 15 innings, Rahane has scored just 110 runs against the English veteran facing 277 balls. While the Mumbaikar averages just 22 against Anderson, his runs have come at a strike rate of 39.71. The 38-year-old England veteran claimed Rahane for the sixth time on Friday, further extending his domination over him.

Along with this James Anderson claimed his 900th international wicket, becoming only the third pacer to do so after Glenn McGrath and Wasim Akram. The seamer has taken 613 Test wickets now, along with 269 ODI wickets and 18 T20I wickets.

Anderson, Stokes impress in Ahmedabad Test

While the Three Lions had fielded just James Anderson and Ben Stokes as their frontline seaming options, the duo has not disappointed. Jimmy removed Shubman Gill and Rahane and Ben Stokes got the crucial wickets of Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma. Courtesy of their spells, England sense a chance of ending the series with a win and denying India a place in the ICC World Test Championship final.
