Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc has enjoyed a little luck on his home track in Monaco. After walking out devastated in the last year’s race, Leclerc crashed his car at the demonstration race on Sunday ahead of the main race of the Monaco Grand Prix. Given a chance to drive the Ferrari that Niki Lauda once drove in action, Leclerc rammed the vehicle into the wall.

To promote the event in his home country, Leclerc was allowed to drive a demonstration in Niki Lauda's old Ferrari car on the Monte Carlo track. While he was doing that, things went wrong probably due to a problem with the brakes. The Monegasque lost control of the car at one of the tuns and ended up in the wall.

Lucky for Ferrari and Leclerc that he did not receive a lot of damage and also survived a serious injury.

Upbeat Leclerc hopes to redeem himself at his home

With the past records not so much in his favour, Charles Leclerc is hoping to turn things around when he takes centerstage on 29 May. The Ferrari driver has been on a roll in 2022 season. He currently stands at the top of the standings with two wins (Bahrain GP and Australian GP) and four podium finishes. Leclerc has 104 points after five races in 2022.

With Leclerc and Ferrari in form, the Monegasque will back himself to get it done what he has been dreaming of for so long. However, Leclerc has the Spanish GP that takes place on 22 May at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, before he can roar in front of his home crowd.
