The Caribbean Premier League started in a great fashion as Shimron Hetmyer’s brilliant half-century helped Guyana Amazon Warriors beat reigning CPL champions Trinbago Knight Riders in the tournament opener. This wasn’t just what captured eyeballs in the Caribbean League, the next match showed some destructive performance by all-rounder Chris Gayle.

Although, Chris Gayle didn’t have a great start with the side he led to the final in 2017 as he managed to score only 12 runs from nine balls he faced in the innings. The 41-year-old was dismissed cheaply by Barbados Royals’ bowler Oshane Thomas. However he had a short stay in the middle, there was one highlight from his stroke play which did make an impact to his batting firepower.

In the fourth over of the Patriots innings Chris Gayle smashed a six off Jason Holder’s delivery. His hard-hit shot eventually broke the window of the Warner Park Sporting Complex.
